com WHAT YOU'LL DO Administers the procedures of the environmental health, and safety program consistent with company's general policies concerning health services.
Administers a budget to meet the operational needs of the Employee Health Clinic.
Coordinates the necessary resources to operate the occupational health service.
Collaborates in the design of controls with E H, & S staff and management for occupational injury and illness prevention.
Develops and provides opportunities for educational training / staff development and continuing professional education.
Ensures compliance with current local, state and federal laws /regulations governing workforce and work site safety, health, and environmental issues.
Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of health information consistent with laws and regulations.
Demonstrates compliance with state laws governing nursing practice.
Assesses the health needs of employees and employee population.
Plans and implements health wellness promotion and disease prevention strategies and programs.
Works with EHS to monitor the work environment to assure the health and safety of the employees.
Participates in Division and Corporate Occupational Health audits/assessments.
Administer and coordinate medical case management (STMLA, EDP, workers' compensation, FMLA) according to Division and Corporate procedures and policies.
Organizes interdisciplinary team meetings to communicate active case management cases.
Act as Site Coordinator to ensure appropriate communication exists between third party administrator, E H & S, management and Human Resources.
Provide appropriate nursing clinical treatment and documentation for all plant injuries and illnesses according to the Medical Director emergency and nursing protocols.
Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure availability of the employee assistance program is communicated to the employee population.
I Implements occupational, health and safety training for all levels of employees as well as provide them with appropriate personal protective equipment /supplies.
As the Abbott site contact, communicates with company or personal physician, employee and department supervisor/manager to orchestrate return to work accommodations / restrictions.
Conduct initial and periodic medical surveillance exams / testing of employees according to Corporate Hazard protocols.
Prepare and maintain medical and safety records, accident investigations and statistical data according to corporate policy.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety, and environmental services.
Coordinates orientation of employees and management to Employee Health Services.
Maintains frequent contact with all levels of employees for communication and problem resolution.
Counsels employees in an ethical manner consistent with American Association of Occupational Health Nurses' Establishes annual goals and objectives for performance and career growth.
Identifies changes is case management practice and treatment plans to bring about appropriate care and cost effective outcomes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING Required:
Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Arizona Minimum of two years of experience in occupational health, case management, community health, critical care or emergency nursing.
Knowledge of OSHA, Workers Compensation, Department of Transportation, Family Medical Leave Act and applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritional manufacturing.
Experience with coordination and administration of medical case management programs.
Prior experience with responding to medical emergencies in the form of accidents, behavioral issues and substance use / abuse.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, and computer skills required.
Can perform independently and as a Team member.
The ability to interact on differing employee levels and make well-informed decisions as required.
Monday-Friday (occasional weekends), 8 hour shifts during 2nd shift which starts at 6pm.
Additionally, we are also on-call.
