Electrical Engineer / Controls Engineer

The Industrial Automation Specialist works closely with multiple departments to identify operational, equipment, process and other needs and establish metrics for achieving improved operational quality, throughput, and accuracy.
Responsibilities include developing hardware, software, electrical and control systems and standards to enhance operational effectiveness, efficiency, quality, and safety performance through automation consolidation, upgraded systems and/or processes and otherwise.
Additional responsibilities include providing support to the engineering, maintenance and production departments to achieve automation, systems and operational objectives through troubleshooting, technical design reviews, application assistance, and identifying and facilitating training.
The Industrial Automation Specialist is also responsible for the development, integration, implementation, and maintenance of systems that automate processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support, problem-solving, maintenance, modifications, and continuous improvement for automated control systems.
Work cross-functionally to optimize current equipment and develop controls specification for functions, user interface and quality control for high reliability.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Support and perform commissioning duties as needed for internally supported projects, including system validation, system training and documentation.
Source and manage outside integration contractors to meet project deliverables of cost, timeline, and equipment performance criteria.
Research new and innovative equipment and processes to support the company initiatives of increasing market share and reducing cost.
Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, and requesting special service when appropriate.
Manage Automation projects including approval process, equipment and material ordering, installation, and start-up.
Integrate into systems methods of eliminating or controlling potential safety and health hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strategic mindset with sound technical skills, analytical ability, problem solving, strong operational focus, and creative thinking.

Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.
Ability to work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms.

Ability to travel overnight as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with experience in related programming and ladder logic.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
