The hospice chaplain is a hospice-trained individual who provides spiritual support to patients and their families. He/she may be a priest, minister, rabbi or other individual with experience in spiritual support. The hospice chaplain is not intended to replace the patient's own clergy, but to provide spiritual support and help.
Provides spiritual support in matters relating to patient and family care.
Submits written reports of all contacts with the hospice patient and family, or of any volunteer activity, in a timely manner.
Acts as liaison with the clerical community to interpret the needs of the hospice patient and family, and helps recruit clerical volunteers for the hospice.
Supports the patient and family in working through the stages of death, grief, and bereavement.
Maintains respect for the family's environment and belief systems, and remains nondiscriminatory regarding age, race, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, and other personal matters.
Functions as a team member by attending interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of the Plan of Care, and participating in the in-service programs to keep informed about current information pertinent to the volunteer.
Breavement Coordinator for Program.
College degree preferred in counseling or divinity school.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to competently provide spiritual support to patients and their families.
A positive, compassionate, and empathetic attitude.
Must be of high integrity including maintenance of confidential information including all patient records.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include some evenings and weekends.
Has a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
